As of April 1, 2012, FDLE and the FBI will no longer accept hard copy fingerprint cards for background checks. All fingerprinting will be submitted electronically via a Live Scan device. Once the Police Department submits your fingerprints you will be responsible to cover the processing fees set forth by FDLE and the FBI. Payment via a credit card will only be accepted at the Civil Workflow Control Systems website at https://caps.fdle.state.fl.us

Your fingerprint technician will provide you with the documents that you need to complete this process.

Your fingerprints will be submitted to FDLE for a state and national criminal records check and will be processed within 24 to 72 hours from time of receipt. If your fingerprints are rejected for fingerprint quality, you will be required to resubmit a second set at no additional cost. If you have any questions or need assistance related to electronic fingerprint submissions, please contact FDLE Criminal History Services at 850‐410‐8161 or via email at applicantchecks@fdle.state.fl.us
