Tree Giveaway Information

In celebration of Arbor Day, we are giving away one free, seven-gallon tree per Winter Springs household. To be eligible to receive a free tree you...

1. Must be a Winter Springs resident.
2. Must attend at least one Tree Education presentation, listed below, held at the event.
3. Sign up to receive your tree after the presentation.

Winter Springs residents may receive one tree per household. Trees will be delivered to residents by the end of April. The trees available to choose from are as follows:

1. Red Maple
2. Crape Myrtle
3. Yaupon Holly

Native Trees

Many Florida native trees have edible parts. Learn which are edible and can play an important role in surviving in the great outdoors.
Presented by Don Philpott, Florida Master Gardner and Florida Master Naturalist/Instructor at Wekiva Wilderness Trust.

of Trees

Learn about the benefits of trees for both humans and wildlife.
Presented by Neta Villalobos-Bell, Florida Native Plant Society – Seminole County (Cuplet Fern) Chapter.

Living in
Bear Country                                                              

Learn about black bear biology, behavior, & management. Residents will leave understanding how not to attract bears into the community as well as how to respond when they encounter a black bear. We will also discuss some statistics & the presence of bears in Seminole County specifically.
Presented by Lori Lindsay, Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Educational information on the benefits of trees.
