Additional Information

Classes

  • Make-ups for pool closure and personal absences are unavailable, but members are encouraged to come during open swim to exercise individually
  • Members can sign-up for up to five classes a week (one per day)
  • Members must pre-registered during sign-up week to attend classes
  • Sign-up weeks are every six weeks
  • Monday of sign-up week is only for Incentive Program qualifiers. All other members must sign-up Tuesday-Friday

Open Swim

Members must sign-in and out from open swim

Misc

  • Members may only bring guests during open swim. Two guest visits per year
  • Remember that it is better to do too little than to do too much
  • Members need to bring a swim suit, towel, lock, and water shoes
  • Members must shower before entering the pool
  • Band-Aids must be removed and properly disposed before entering the ppool
  • Lotions and perfumes are not permitted before entering the pool

2010 Sign-up Weeks

You must be a registered member for the year before sign-up week to begin classes that session. Each session is six weeks. The following sign-up weeks are:

  • September 6th-10th
  • October 25th-29th

Class Descriptions

BASIC ARTHRITIS ______________________________________________
Low intensity - Specifically for people with impaired joint movement, decreased strength or stamina, and a current sedentary lifestyle.  Exercises were designed by the Arthritis Foundation® to improve overall function and performance of daily tasks and mobility. (Gloves)


WATER WALKING ______________________________________________
Low intensity - Targeted for people who are strong enough to use added weights, endure longer periods of movement, and less stationary time.  Exercises are focused on joint strengthening, increasing range of motion and flexibility, and balance training. (Dumbbells)


AEROBICS ____________________________________________________
High intensity - Exercises from the United States Water Fitness AssociationTM with the simple goal of providing cardio vascular fitness and endurance. People in this class are expected to have a current active lifestyle. (Dumbbells and noodles)


AQUASIZE ___________________________________________________
High intensity - Exercises inspired from the Aquatic Exercise Association using music to energize the workout routine. People in this class need to be cardio oriented. (Dumbbells, ankle/wrist weights, noodles)


ZUMBA GOLD _________________________________________________
High intensity - Zumba® offers dynamic fitness combining Latin and other rhythms with basic dance moves to create a calorie-burning and body-energizing party. It uses fast and slow resistance training to tone and sculpt while burning fat. (Minimum of 6 weeks in Aerobics required. No equipment)
